Unfortunately, some of the plants that were planted as part of the Front Gate Project earlier this year have failed. But since Serpico guarantees their plantings, they will replacing these plants for no charge. We expect to see replacements planted soon.
The Committee, along with the assistance of Marian Breitbart and Carl Fricke, has updated the Tree Inventory. This includes a spreadsheet listing the designated number for every tree on the property and a map with the corresponding locations. There are over 300 trees! The spreadsheet provides a way to track each tree with information such as the year the tree was planted and any issues (roots, health, etc) that we want to monitor. Now that inventory has been updated, Elyce will be getting bids for annual tree care. During the annual tree care, an arborist inspects the trees so that trees that need attention(such as pruning, treatment for disease or removal) can be taken care of.
We have divided the Fall Planting project into three phases and are waiting for bids for the first phase. We expect to get approval to proceed on Phase 1 at the November Board meeting. The focus this year is on tree replacements and on filling larger voids in the landscaping.
Stay tuned for further developments
